This major consists of the robotics and virtual engineering majors combined. It is managed and operated together by KITECH (Korea Institute of Industrial Technology) and KRRI (Korea Railroad Research Institute). Robotics is an interdisciplinary study composed of mechanical, computer, and electrical engineering as well as information technology for the purpose of developing robots to accomplish tasks in place of people. You will learn about advanced technology such as environment recognition, decision making and intelligence, manipulation, navigation, and human-robot interaction. Our department is aiming to cultivate experts who have the ability to develop service, field, and manufacturing robots that function in real environments. Virtual Engineering is the study of technology to design and build products and production systems by integrating information technology (IT) in traditional manufacturing techniques. Our department is aiming to cultivate experts who have the ability to design products or manufacturing process in virtual spaces such as high-speed computing environments or on the internet and to build Virtual Manufacturing Systems (VMS) by systematically accumulating and utilizing design technology for product manufacturing processes or railway vehicle development.
